Jason Martin grew up in Salt Lake City and has a talent for creating landscapes of Capitol Reef National Park. His artwork is displayed at Red Sands Hotel and is for sale. Please contact Red Sands Hotel to purchase any of Jason Martin’s unique landscape pieces.

Jarod Hansen

Jarod Hansen lives in Kanab where he is surrounded by breathtaking red rock cliffs an inspiration to creating his favorite work. He enjoys working with stone creating functional stone sculptures such as address plaques, monumental pieces and city signs. He is also an incredible oil painter. His painting of the Indian hanging off the Temple of the Sun is displayed in the lobby of our Hotel and is for sale. The Temple of the Sun and the Moon is one of the many miraculous areas to visit when touring Capitol Reef National Park. He recently finished his bachelor degree at SUU and has returned home to Kanab, Utah from a deployment from Iraq. Contact Jarod Hansen for prices and orders.

Wade Hansen

A century ago James Jensen, son of Danish immigrants, learned to cut stone in the granite quarries of Little Cottonwood Canyon. From son to son his legacy has passed down five generations to Wade Hansen, his uncle Wes Hansen, cousins Brad and Glen Hansen to his nephew Jarod Hansen who all specializes in the very artistically difficult craft of stone carving. For the last fifty five years the Hansen’s have worked on nearly every local renovation or stone construction project, continually absorbing techniques from other stone workers and learning by trial and error.

Wade Hansen’s Gargoyle inspired by the cover of a Stephen King Book was carved using sandstone from the same quarry that provided the stone for the City County Building in Salt Lake City Utah. Besides gargoyles he carves a variety of custom mantles, statues and fountains.
